Conditioning glycol/water circuits
Designers and manufacturers in the refrigeration sector
Acquiring CTM has allowed Madefrigor to achieve an ambitious goal: to offer a comprehensive range of solutions for the refrigeration industry, with a particular focus on technology companies and scientific refrigeration. In addition to the agriculture and food industry, the company’s core business for 50 years, we now also act as a partner for the chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas industries.
Among other services, we specialise in fluid distribution systems: channels and fans for air; pipes and pumps for water; and glycol/water circuits, including cleaning and conditioning. All of this is possible thanks to the different specialists who make up our team, offering advanced engineering solutions.
Maximum efficiency
and sustainabiltiy
Molybdenum-free additives
The excellent performance of our systems allows for maximum efficiency and energy savings. By controlling the pH, inhibiting corrosion, and dispersing sludge, we are able to achieve perfectly conditioned glycol/water circuits, eliminating the typical problems encountered by these systems: poor efficiency, frequent maintenance issues and regular repairs.
Our specialists ensure optimal results by carefully assessing the characteristics of the system, the glycol used and the water quality; to protect the environment, we are committed to using eco-friendly, molybdenum-free products. Microbiological controls are also necessary to prevent the formation of fungi and bacteria, which is achieved using biocidal additives.
The ideal coolant
Water is an ideal coolant because it can flow through narrow pipes, has excellent heat transfer properties, a high boiling point and low costs.
Glycol/water
Temperatures below 0 °C make water unusable in cold conditions, so it is combined with glycol in a 1:1 mixture of water and ethylene glycol (or propylene), which can bring the freezing point of water as low as -30 °C.
Cleaning glycol/water circuits
Cleaning glycol/water circuits involves emptying the circuit, washing it with a pickling agent that acts at a neutral pH, and reclaiming the glycol/water solution. In large systems, the cleaning process can be carried out using a mixture of alkalisers, dispersants and biocides without stopping the system.
